It’s Victoria Day long weekend, which is widely considered the unofficial start of the summer season in Canada! Prior to Covid-19, that probably meant getting together with friends and family, opening the barbecue, and maybe even hitting up your first patio of the season…

Well, your long weekend plans may look a little different this year, but I’m still determined to have one hell of a time! Who’s with me? There are tons of ways to have fun at home and keep busy including by embracing DIY projects and even online shopping. So remember to stay home this weekend and get ready to have fun with any of these suggestions. 

Here are 5 ways to have fun at home this weekend!

Clean out your closet

Spring has sprung and that means it’s time to prep your wardrobe for the new season! This long weekend is the perfect time to do your spring cleaning (aka editing your mess of a closet). It can feel a little overwhelming at first, but I promise you’ll feel better than ever once it’s all done!

Just start by setting aside an appropriate amount of time to go through your closet (aim for 2 hours) and follow my 5 easy tips, and your wardrobe will be spring ready in no time!

DIY 

The long weekend is the perfect time to embark on a DIY project where you can reuse your ripped tights and turn them into something useful like into a scrunchie or headband. Blogger Sarah Duquette from Boho & Braids has tons of ideas for DIY projects and all you’ll need is a pair of tights and some supplies that you can easily find lying around the house. 

Do an IGTV yoga session
