Spring is in full bloom and so is my desire to stock my closet with new season essentials. Every season, I mentally write a list of must-have items I want to fill my wardrobe with. From basics to trendy pieces, I love having a closet that is functional and stylish. To maximize my budget, I always have a list of go-to retailers to shop at.
With that being said, if you’re also looking to revamp your wardrobe, I have some suggestions on where to start.
Here are 5 retailers I'm shopping at this spring!
I'm a sucker for a well-curated store and Simons department store fits the bill. I wander the aisles of the store each new season and browse online quite occasionally. Simons is one of my favourite places to shop and not because it's Canadian (which is amazing), but because of its selection of clothes, for men and women, and items for the home. Nothing beats picking up a few new pieces for spring for yourself, your man and your home all at the same time!
2. From Rachel
As the new season rolls around and I clear out some space in my closet, I always want to stock up on a few more pairs of tights. Spring in Canada still has a chill in the air and I for one like to keep my legs warm and stylish. From Rachel is a must on my list for snagging the best and most stylish tights. And it doesn't hurt that From Rachel is also a Canadian online retailer. I'm currently loving all the floral tights and fishnet tights since festival season just kicked off!
Every season, I love to find a few unique pieces you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere than the Drake General Store. This retailer is a fun online and brick-and-mortar shop offering a variety of hard to find pieces, as well as brands you know and love. If you've never heard of the Drake General Store, they are a Canadian shop that supports Canadian artists and designers, which I find super cool. Give their online store a peek if you want to check out something a little different.
4. Oak + Fort
If you're looking to shop less at fast fashion chains and more at retailers that thoughtfully design their pieces, check out Oak + Fort. It began as a small boutique in Vancouver focusing on minimalist aesthetic. Their pieces are well made and well priced and they are great at making great basics and layering pieces. They also offer a beauty section and a small home section.
No wardrobe is complete without the perfect accessories! Mejuri is the perfect online retailer to give your wardrobe the finishing touch it needs. Based in Toronto, Mejuri sells beautiful minimalistic jewelry at a low cost due to cutting out the middleman. They have an amazing selection of necklaces, rings (even engagement), bracelets and earrings. I’m a huge fan of their dainty jewelry and love how they’ve expanded into home pieces too. If you’re looking to purchase quality jewelry for yourself or as a gift at a great price, I’d say give Mejuri a go!
