Canadian summers are so short that I barely get to wear my warm weather wardrobe, and what's the fun in that? That’s why, it's so important to know how to transition our clothes from season to season to make the most out of all our purchases.
Summer dresses are an easy item to style for cold weather and can easily get you through winter and into spring. This March, reach for your summer dresses and start transitioning your wardrobe.
Here are 3 ways to style your dresses this month!
With a sweater
A loose sweater is a great layering piece to create cozy looks that are winter-appropriate. To winterize your summer dresses, the first thing you want to do is belt your waist with a belt or belt bag. Then, pick out a sweater or sweatshirt to match and tuck the front of it into your belt. Voila, you now have an entirely different look. Now all of your summer dresses instantly become skirts that you can layer over. Hello wardrobe that just doubled in size!

With a turtleneck
If you're a turtleneck lover, you're in luck because layering a turtleneck under your summer dress is another great way to take your dresses into the winter months. This duo is super chic, adds an extra layer of warmth and looks amazing with any sleeveless or short sleeve dress. A thin turtleneck is a must to create layered looks and one of my favourite essentials.

With a blazer & blouse
Take your summer dress to work by styling a blouse underneath and a blazer over top. By layering a blouse underneath your dress, you’ll create a more elevated and sophisticated look that’s work-appropriate, but still ultra cute and fabulous. Not hitting the office? Toss in a beret and you'll feel like you're ready to walk the streets of Paris instead of the hallways of an office.
